Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of using discussion methods, giving assignments and learning motivation on increasing the absorption capacity of MIS Maura El Muntaz students in Binjai City. As for the results of this research, the first hypothesis is accepted, meaningvariableUse of Discussion Methods(X1) has a significant effecton the variable Increasing Student Absorption Capacity (Y). The second hypothesis is accepted, meaningvariableAssignment of Assignments(X2) has a significant effecton the variable Increasing Student Absorption Capacity (Y). The third hypothesis is rejected, meaningvariableLearning Motivation (X3) nosignificant effecton the variable Increasing Student Absorption Capacity (Y). The fourth hypothesis is accepted, meaning that the use of discussion methods (X1), giving assignments (X2) and learning motivation (X3) have a significant effect together (simultaneously) on the variable Increasing Student Absorption Capacity (Y). Schools are expected to support teachers to apply discussion methods in teaching speaking skills for class students in order to improve speaking skills in elementary school subjects. Teachers should use an approach in learning that adapts to the material being taught. Teachers should often give assignments, both assignments at school in the form of post tests and assignments at home/homework to students so that students can repeat the lessons they have learned previously.
